Linda W Evans

President
Linda grew up in College Park and moved to Smyrna in 1968. She believes it is important to give back to the community by volunteering. In Linda’s spare time she loves to garden and is on a dragon boat team.

Charles "Corkey" Welch

Counselor

“Corkey” has been a ward 4 representative on the Smyrna City Council for 12 years and & serves on the board of the Cobb County Marietta Water Authority and resides in Smyrna with his family.

Christa Evans Heath Ed.D

Committee Member – Outreach
Christa is a Smyrna native and Campbell High School graduate . She has a degree in history from Kennesaw State University. She has been an educator for 15 years including teaching Georgia history.

Rebekah Helfgot

Research Chair

Rebekah has a master’s degree in historic presevation and works as a historian for an engineering firm. A third generation Atlantan, Rebekah has lived in Smyrna since 2020.

Dr. David Martin

Board Member

David Martin was the long-time Executive Director of the Georgia Council on Economic Education an organization dedicated to helping teachers teach economics in the public and independent schools of Georgia and has degrees in history, economics, and political science.

Ish Laos

Director of Technology/Webmaster

Ish runs a web design agency and during his off-time, enjoys being involved with the Smyrna Historical Society, contributing any way he can. He is passionate about his family, history, book-reading and documentaries.
